One of the many reasons why I love being a wedding photographer is getting to travel and shoot in new destinations. When Sydney and Jack booked me for their wedding in Memphis, Tennessee, I was so overjoyed!
Sydney first found me when she was looking for someone to shoot their engagement session in Natchez, Mississippi at a local family business. When I mentioned I was even open to traveling for their wedding in the Spring, we became a match made in heaven!
We started the day at the Memphis Country Club which provided a gorgeous getting ready location for detail shots! The invitation suite was elegant and classic, complete with beautiful gold calligraphy that made my heart sing!
The Wedding
After the getting ready portion of the day, we headed over to the Dixon Gallery and Gardens just down the road in Memphis. We then began the rest of our day with a pair of sweet first looks. First, Sydney had a first look with her father! This is something I always recommend to brides, especially if they are close with their dads. I believe that a first look with dad is always a tender moment that deserves to be captured. Plus, more fathers will cry than you realize!
After the first look with her dad, it was finally time for the big reveal! Sydney and Jack’s sweet first look could not have been more adorable. Their joy was bursting at the seams and I couldn’t help but smile from behind my camera. Immediately following the first look we moved into bridal party and family portrait time.
After the formal portraits with family, we moved into my favorite part of the day – bride and groom portraits! This location certainly did not disappoint. The large, colorful tulips were in full bloom, making it any wedding photographer’s dream location!
Thankfully the rain held off until after the ceremony. Then when we partied under a clear tent as the thunderstorms started to roll in. The band was absolutely amazing! The joy was apparent in the air as the happy couple’s closest family and friends celebrated their new marriage.
I had such a blast with Sydney and Jack! I can’t thank them enough for trusting me with their special Memphis Tennessee wedding. Congratulations newlyweds!
