As a wedding photographer, there is just something so sweet about hometown church weddings in Flowood, Mississippi. I’ve been able to photograph at Riverside Church a couple of times and each time is so special. There is something so simple, clean, and classic about a little white church wedding.
Alexis and Derek were wed here on a beautiful January day! Even though there was a little chill in the air, it didn’t stop us from getting gorgeous portraits of their special day. The day was overflowing with joy and happiness, which makes for a perfect wedding day!
The theme of the day was both romantic and elegant. You can never go wrong with ivory and greenery included in your special day. Plus the bridesmaid’s emerald, satin dresses were gorgeous! Add a black tux and luxurious bridal gown and you’ve got the perfect Mississippi wedding for a classic Southern couple!
One of the most important aspects of the day for Alexis and Derek were their bride and groom portraits. They prioritized it so much that we got two separate shooting sessions throughout the day! After their first look we took some romantic images outside the church. Then, once their ceremony was over, we were whisked away to the front of the church and greeted by a vintage car! If you’re considering adding one to your wedding day – this is a sign to do it!! Not only did we get stunning images, but they also had a sweet ride to leave in at the end of the evening.
