I cannot begin to describe how giddy this beautiful session made me! A stunning bride and groom, a gorgeous venue, and a sunny Spring day made for the perfect session combination!

Back in the Spring, I met up with Katelyn for her bridal session at the luxurious Nottoway Resort in White Castle, Louisiana, just south of Baton Rouge. As a Baton Rouge wedding photographer, this venue is a favorite! The AAA Four-Diamond property is home to one of the South’s largest historic mansions. It provides both beautiful inside and out options for any session you could imagine. By favorite, of course, being the dreamy all white ballroom that has gold accents to add a little sparkle to your photos.

For the first half of the session we explored the property together, photographing this glowing bride in all her elegant glory. The accessory options Katelyn brought along with her provided a variety of options for her portraits. Gloves and a long flowy cape added a touch of romanced to the images.

About halfway through the bridal session, Katelyn had a surprising twist I’ve never seen before – her groom! I was ecstatic at this new idea! This session took place two months before their wedding date. Because she wanted bride and groom portraits in this opulent location, the couple decided to do an early first look! It was such a sweet private first look in the ballroom, where they two saw each other dressed in their wedding day best.

After the first look, we took time for wedding day portraits around the property. We started inside the ballroom before working our way outside. The couple dipped, snuggled, and kiss giddily. You can just see the love in their eyes!

I had an absolute blast at this unique Nottoway wedding portrait and bridal session. It’s one that I will never forget as it was such an honor to be a part of this amazing idea! Congratulations to the newlyweds!
