There’s something so timeless about a session that blends natural beauty, golden light, and a couple who is completely smitten with each other. Ashleigh and John’s engagement session at Fontainebleau State Park in Mandeville, Louisiana was just that!
On a sunny mid-October afternoon, we met up to explore two of my favorite spots within the park: the dreamy moss-draped oak trees and the peaceful lakefront shoreline. Fontainebleau is one of those locations that truly offers the best of both worlds: lush, romantic greenery and a coastal feel all in one place. It’s a hidden gem for any couple looking for variety in their engagement photos!
Two Looks, One Perfect Fontainebleau Engagement Session
Ashleigh and John chose to do two outfits, which I always recommend for engagement sessions. For the first half, they went with a more semi-formal look under the oak trees. Ashleigh wore a beautiful floral dress that flowed perfectly with the breeze. John opted for a classic blue button-down and neutral pants. The soft light filtering through the Spanish moss created such a romantic feel.
For the second half, we headed to the beachfront area and switched things up with a more casual vibe of matching jeans and white tops. This look felt effortless, playful, and so them. Walking along the shoreline, holding hands, laughing, and stealing quiet moments together made for some of my favorite images of the day!
Giggly, Joyful, and So in Love
What stood out most about this session wasn’t just the location (although it was stunning), but how Ashleigh and John interacted with each other. They were giggly, joyful, and completely comfortable. Constantly laughing, cuddling, and soaking in every moment. The kind of connection that makes my job incredibly easy and so meaningful as a Louisiana wedding photographer.
Their session felt less like a photoshoot and more like a fun afternoon date, which is always my goal. When couples feel relaxed and present, the photos naturally reflect real emotion. That’s what creates timeless engagement images.
