There’s nothing sweeter than an outdoor summer wedding at The Reed House at Live Oaks in Jackson, Mississippi. Jensen and Trey envisioned a relaxed and organic atmosphere that really brought the beauty of nature into their special day. The dream was an outdoor wedding with natural colors and clean decor – simple and elegant. They found this dream at the beautiful new venue The Reed House at Live Oaks, which is a property situated right alongside a sprawling golf course outside of Jackson, Mississippi. (And of course we had to take a golden hour portrait on the green after the ceremony).
From the bride (Jensen):
“Once I found the venue, it was so beautiful on its own that it did not need loud colors or decorations. It would take away from the natural beauty the venue already provided. I chose dusty blue, sage green, and creams for the color palette. As for the style vision, I wanted more minimalistic since I wanted nature to really pop.”
The wedding was more minimalistic but there were a few unique elements that the couple added to their special day. This included the champagne wall, the custom napkins, vinyl records for the guests to sign, and the couple’s last name engraved on the champagne glasses.
The blooming flowers really stole the show in this naturalist wedding. The florals were mostly cream-colored with greenery sprinkled in and a touch of blue from the ribbon that held them together. Jensen’s wedding dress was a beautiful A-line style that featured crystals, embroidery, appliqués, and beading. It had a v-neckline and an open back with buttons along the back. So gorgeous!!
The cakes were a favorite for the special day! The bride’s cake was a simple three layers featuring a light layer of icing and roses to decorate it with. Jensen & Trey said this cake was a favorite of theirs since each layer was a different flavor. The bottom layer was classic vanilla, the middle was strawberry, and my favorite was the top layer with confetti cake. As a Southern tradition, you can’t forget the groom’s cake! It was chocolate on chocolate with chocolate candies on the top to decorate it.
When asked what is one piece of advice you would give brides-to-be, Jensen responded:
“Make sure you and your husband get to eat before enjoying the party! We had a meal alone together before making our entrance. It was worth it because I’m not sure we would have eaten with how busy the rest of the night was. Plus, it was nice to have a moment alone after the ceremony.”
If you’re looking for a stunning venue with both indoor and outdoor options, consider a Reed House at Live Oaks wedding! You’ll fall in love with the natural beauty there just like Jensen and Trey did. Congratulations to this happy couple!
