Phoebe and Brandon’s summer Pitot House wedding in New Orleans, Louisiana was absolutely dreamy in every way possible! From the dusty blue color scheme to the historic venues to a rockin’ second line, this day had it all – including stormy weather!
Some might think that a rainy wedding day can’t be beautiful. I believe that this phenomenal day could prove anyone otherwise! While it stormed most of the morning, the skies cleared just in time for the ceremony and outdoor reception. The key to making unplanned weather work for a wedding is to have an amazing vendor team that is flexible and can handle any change! Alicia with Pennywell Events was an absolutely pro in making this day happen smoothly!!
The Pitot House Wedding Day
Phoebe got ready at a family friend’s house nearby and it provided beautiful natural light for her detail images. She had special heirloom items that I couldn’t wait to capture! This is one of my favorite parts of any wedding day. A couple always spends time carefully choosing out their details – invitation, rings, etc – so they deserved to be photographed just as beautifully as the rest of the day!
The historic Pitot House provided a beautiful backdrop for a rainy wedding day. While it drizzled around us, the covered porch and balcony gave us the perfect covering for wedding party photographs. After these images, we traveled to the nearby Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church for the sweet ceremony.
Once the ceremony was over, it was time for more portraits and an amazing party back at The Pitot House! The Bucktown All-Stars were the absolutely perfect band for this summer evening! They rocked the night away, all the way until the jazz second line (a tradition for any New Orleans wedding).
Congratulations to this amazing couple! It’s a wedding day that we will never forget!
